2017 Haval H6 Lux review
Owner Review | 19 Feb 2018
We purchased the H6 after test driving the HAVAL range. We were impressed by the level of features, build quality and value for money. Buying a Chinese made vehicle was a change after owning a Jeep, Land Rover, Ford, Holden and Toyota. The 5 year warranty helped us feel a little more secure. We will have to wait and see how the re-sale value works out. The vehicle has performed well in a variety of conditions. The heated seats front and rear have been a treat during winter and the leg room in the passenger seats is generous. The safety features are very useful, including the reversing camera, side parking camera and the blind spot warning system. The engine performs well in all modes, standard, eco and sports. Using the paddle shifters in sports mode and flicking through the gears is smooth and a whole lot of fun. The throaty sound of the turbocharged 2.0 litre engine accelerating in sports mode is also appealing. We have found the most common reaction to the HAVAL from friends and people in general is, "what's a HAVAL?" or, "Who makes HAVAL?" "It's Chinese," we say waiting for the awkward silence that often follows. Have a look inside. Nearly alway the response goes something like, "Wow it's really well finished. If you hadn't told me it was Chinese I would have thought it was European." That's what we thought and that's why we forked out the money. We have owned the car for over 12 months now and haven't had a single problem. It's reliable and the interior hasn't shown any sign of deterioration. I have owned a lot of cars over the years and I can't remember ever looking at one after having it for over 12 months and still thinking to myself, "that's a really nice looking car!" HAVAL ran an ad campaign at one stage that said something like, "you'll love every drive'. I remember thinking, 'that sounds like classic ad spin. But I have to say, I do love every drive even after a year of ownership. I recently test drove the new H9 ULTRA and was really impressed. This may be our next family vehicle.

2018 Haval H6 Lux review
Owner Review | 7 Feb 2018
Picked up the Haval H6 as a replacement to my Holden Cruze SRiV. We picked the Haval H6 as we wanted a medium sized SUV and wanted to keep our spending down. The Haval H6 has a heap of fetures for its price range and the options you get with the Lux model you won’t find anywhere else. But want you also won’t find anywhere is is poor customer follow up and a lack of respect from the team at Haval. As stated before we picked the Haval H6 Lux due to its awesomely low price when you compare it to other cars on the market. The features you get with the LUX model include; climate control, leather seating, GPS, moon roof, mood lighting and a spacious boot to name a few. At around $30,000 -$35,000 you won’t find these options included with other brands. However buying such a car at a low price has come with a number of issues, this has included; poor quality build, parts falling off or damaged at delivery, GPS/Radio unit that fails to routinely work, poor follow up service, rude staff at Haval headoffice to name a few. Below if have listed each issue that I have had so far; * Windscreen wipes - these go out of control when set to auto [this has now been fixed with a software update] * Tike on dash - the time on the dash would not match the time on the radio [This has now been fixed by setting the radio Timezone to Canadian time] * GPS/Radio unit won’t turn on or will display a white screen [issue is still ongoing] * Blootooth mic - Industral glue on mic when car was delivered [on going issue] * Plastic parts falling off the wall - a number of plastic parts are failing within the car [still waiting to be fixed] * Wall parts falling off - other non plastic parts falling off from the car [again not fixed - new issue] * Speckers not working - this issue is still on going, some have been fixed they say. These are just some of the issues not all of the issues I have had with this car. Not something you would expect from a new car or brand within Australia. These issues are compacted by poor customer service, rude staff at Haval and a lack of supplies in Australia. My advice to anyone wanting to buy a Haval H6 or any Haval at all is to stay away, spend the extra money and go elsewhere. Haval need to pick up their game and improve their cars and customer service.
