Video: Idiot does a burnout in front of Brisbane police station
A hoon driver is being investigated by police after performing a burnout in front of a Brisbane police station – with the car’s passenger filming the illegal act and uploading it to social media.
Queensland police are attempting to locate a hoon driver who performed a burnout in front of an empty police station in south Brisbane earlier this month, later uploading the footage to social media.
The idiot driver performed the burnout outside the Carina Police Station in Brisbane’s south-east just before midnight on 11 February 2023, starting in the car park and working their way onto the nearby Narracott Street and Creek Road.
The burnout was filmed by the car’s passenger and later uploaded to social media platformTikTok.
Television bulletin 9 News Brisbane aired the footage in its Sunday evening program and uploaded the video to Facebook, where it has been viewed by more than 200,000 people.
A spokesperson for the Queensland Police Service said the footage and wilful damage of the road is currently being investigated, asking the public to help track down the hoon driver.
“Police are aware of a video of the incident, which will form part of investigations,” a Queensland Police Service spokesperson told Drive.
“Anyone with information who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage in the vicinity of Narracott Street is asked to contact police.”
In Queensland, making unnecessary noise or smoke with a vehicle can result in a maximum fine of $2875, plus an immediate licence suspension.
Queensland police also have the power to impound, immobilise and confiscate vehicles involved in hooning offences.
